Deciphering Grants

In this two-part workshop, participants from all disciplines and backgrounds build a tacit understanding in how grants serve the trajectory of your professional and artistic career, and learn to leverage grant application questions to fully inform foundations of your work in the broader context of your community and needs. Through exercises, conversation, and real-world examples, these workshops supplement artists’ experiences in grant writing and budgets.

Making it Happen: How to build your creative project

Learn how to apply the principles of project management to your creative project! We'll cover the steps to defining, planning, organizing, and completing a project. Get tips on creating a budget, developing a realistic timeline, and finding funding. You'll come away with a list of helpful resources. Designed to provide artists + creative professionals info and tools to support successful planning and completion of creative projects.

In this interactive workshop, understand the ins and outs of applying for grants, including identifying opportunities, types of grants, how to submit a competitive application, and how the grant review process typically works. Learn about the components of grant applications, and get tips on writing compelling project descriptions, creating a budget, fine tuning your artist statement and resume, and putting together work samples. The workshop is designed to demystify the grant review process, help you overcome barriers to applying for grants, and learn collaboratively. Artists from all disciplines and backgrounds are welcome.
